Jewel & James took the initial GATE test in November. We received their scores last weekend. For their respective ages, in the verbal section of the test, Jewel is in the 97th percentile & James is in the 95th. In other words, they both passed.

So now we take the next step: teacher observation, parent survey, work samples, district review.

We're just taking it one step at a time. For me, it's really about the right fit for each child. I want them to excel naturally by not placing undue pressure on them at a young age.

However, education is a primary value for us as a family. If the children are GATE identified, we would take the necessary steps to ensure their success in that program.
