A Healthier Halloween.

Trick-or-treating is a blast, but I'm always bothered by how much candy the kids haul in. This year we're doing something different. The kids have agreed not to keep all their candy. They can keep 7 pieces---one piece a day for a week. The rest will be poured into a big bowl before they go to sleep. In the morning, the candy will be gone and a toy (most likely a good book) will be in its place.

Also, I encouraged more veggie eating by making these fun plates:

The kids loved it! They had fun re-arranging the faces as they ate the veggie pieces. Veggies used: zucchini, tomatoes, celery, celery leaves and broccoli.

Here's to a happier, healthier Halloween!
