Week In The Life: Day 5.

No pics today. Sorry. Matt had to work today so I was on my own with 5 children, 2 houseguests, 1 church service, 3 Sunday school classrooms, 3 hot meals, 4 poopy diapers + 1 hand smashed in the door.

I didn't touch the camera once. Although, while I was laying on the grass reading books with the children I thought: Oh, this would be a great picture. Does that count? :-)

We finished reading "Luther the Leader" today. I think it's important to teach my children Church History since they don't get much of that in Sunday School. The book was OK, but not great. Why is it so difficult to find a good book about The Reformation without it having a huge dose of anti-Catholic sentiment? I skipped several paragraphs/pages and ridiculous illustrations. Throughout the reading of this book, we've also discussed the many ways Catholics and Protestants are alike.

In this small way I hope to teach my children an appreciation for every sect of Christianity that claims Jesus as Lord.

For breakfast, I made pancakes with Aidell's Chicken & Apple sausage. For lunch we had mozzarella quesadillas. For dinner I used ground turkey to make Annie's Organic Cheesy Lasagna. The children also ate approx. 3 apples, 20 strawberries, 2 bananas, some Cheezits, 3 cups of orange juice, 2 cups of milk, 3 fruit snacks, 3 slices whole-grain bread.

Please don't send me emails asking why the kids didn't eat veggies today. They just. Didn't. Plus? Daddy was working and Mommy was too tired to sit there with the timer and saying: Eat your broccoli, eat your broccoli, eat it, eat it, EAT IT!

I heard these things today:

1. "Are these all yours?" --lady at church

2. "Oh, you have your hands full!" --another lady at church

3. "You're doing a great job." --the most WONDERFUL lady at church

4. ""Mommy, I'm going to get West Nile Virus if I play outside!" ---Jude, the boy who is also afraid of gettingElephantitis

And because I can't resist posting this picture, here's one from yesterday. I had fixed the babies' hair in little whale-spouts which I undid before their naps. When they woke up, they had "faux-hawks"! Heeee!
